Create Your Own Mouse Pads Using Your Pouch Laminator

Have you ever wanted to make your own mouse pads? If you have, you'll be glad to know that it's easy to do as long as you have a pouch laminator and the appropriate supplies. Here's how you do it:

  1. First of all, you're going to need a pouch laminator if you don't already have one. The machine needs to be able to handle photographs and laminating pouches of different thicknesses. It would be preferable if the machine had more than one heated roller. (A heat plate would also be helpful.) If your machine has one or both of these features, heat will be distributed evenly so your mouse pad will look great.
  2. In order to make mouse pads, you're going to need more than just ordinary laminating pouches. You'll need mouse pad kits which are made by GBC. These kits contain mouse pads and special laminating pouches. The mouse pads have a release liner to help your document adhere to the pad.
  3. Since you now have your supplies and laminator, you'll need to decide what images and/or text you want to put on your mouse pad. Photographs are a great choice as is your company's logo. When you've decided on your design, print it out on your laser or inkjet printer so it will look great. If you need to, trim the design down so it will fit on the pad.
  4. Now is the time to assemble your mouse pads. Place your photo or design in one of the laminating pouches that came in the mouse pad kit and run it through your laminator. (Before you do this, you should check your machine's heat setting to ensure you picked the right one.) After your item has been laminated, let it cool off. When it's ready, remove the mouse pad's release liner and place your laminated item on the pad.
  5. If you want to trim your mouse pad, you can do so with a guillotine cutter or a knife and straight edge. The mouse pad will have square corners but they can be rounded with a corner rounding machine.

That's all there is to the mouse pad-making process. Making these items is really easy so you can make them at home, in the classroom, or at work. Try making your own mouse pads today.
