MBM's standard Safety Protection System combines innovative ideas with automated functions to provide you with a safe and convenient shredding experience. A safety shield protects the opening from fingers or other objects accidentally sliding into the blades. The "Easy Switch" combines three functions in one button, including stand-by, stop, and reverse. Stop is activated when the shred bag is full or the door is open. Stop and reverse work together to avoid paper jams by cutting power to the motor if the blades are overfed and sliding the items out to the user. An Energy Save Mode reduces the motor to a "sleep" mode after one hour of inactivity to conserve electricity.

A powerful single phase motor runs the 4002 and is rated for sustained use. The engine uses a sturdy twin drive system and is double protected against overheating to prolong the life of your shredder. A dustproof enclosure houses the durable gears to help avoid corrosion.

The small cross cut particles only rate a level 3 security. Many offices consider this adequate for most confidential documents. However, if you have a higher volume of riskier documents to dispose of, you might prefer the Micro Cut version of this model.

Weighing 227 pounds, this shredder is a heavy piece of office equipment. But it is mounted on casters, which makes it easier to move around, and we don't think this will be much of an issue for most users.
