Royal Sovereign RSC-1400L 55 Inch Wide Format Cold Roll Laminator

Choosing a laminator that can process wide-format items on a cold setting can be challenging. Luckily, Royal Sovereign makes some of the best cold process devices available including the RSC-1400L. This product has a lot of great things going for it, but there are also a few things to keep in mind before purchasing it. Here are the RSC-1400L's strengths and weaknesses, so check them out.

Strengths:

• The RSC-1400L is a wide-format laminator so it's perfect for processing really large items. It can laminate items that are up to 55 inches wide including banners, visual aids, and more.

• This machine was designed for cold lamination. Because of this, it utilizes pressure-sensitive film as opposed to the thermal kind. You can use film of any thickness, from 1 mil to 10 mil. Whatever thickness you choose, make sure the film is on a roll with a 2.25- or 3-inch core.

• Since there's no heat present during laminating, you can use this machine to process thermally sensitive items. This makes the machine very versatile.

• The RSC-1400L is compatible with thicker materials such as foam board and mounting boards. The boards you work with can be up to 0.5" thick. Using supplies such as these is convenient when you want to create professional-looking displays. You can also use adhesives if you want.

• This laminator has silicone rollers that are 50% larger than the ones found on the Royal Sovereign 1400C and 1400H. Weaknesses:

• As mentioned above, the RSC-1400L doesn't have a hot setting, so this will be a problem if you want to use thermal film. You should choose a different laminator if you want to process your items thermally.

• This is a huge machine and it will demand a lot of room in your workplace. The device's dimensions are in the ballpark of 68" (width) x 26" (depth) x 34" (height) so it wouldn't be suitable for really small areas.
