The GBC 9" Creative laminator is specifically designed for home, school or small office use. This laminator offers a 9" wide throat that is designed for use with 3mil and 5mil laminating pouches that are up to 9" x 14" in size. This makes the creative laminator an ideal choice for individuals or organizations that need to ocasionally laminate letter size (8.5" x 11"), legal size (8.5" x 14") and small documents. This laminator can even be used to laminate ID badges, luggage tags, recipe cards, signs and name tags. The GBC 9" Creative laminator is designed to work with all of our standard 3mil and 5mil thickness pouches and will also work with GBC Premium laminating pouches that are either 3mil or 5mil thick. However, the best part about the GBC 9" Creative Laminator is that is economical making it a great option for a home user who wants to create craft projects, signs, bookmarks, placemats, drink holders, luggage tags, ID badges and stickers.

GBC HeatSeal Creative Laminator Review

Overview:

If you've ever wanted to protect important documents from the comfort of your home or office, you really need to consider getting a pouch laminator. One device that's great for occasional use is the GBC HeatSeal Creative Laminator. This is one of GBC's more basic machines but don't let that scare you off. Take a look at its strengths/features and weaknesses/limitations to make an educated decision about whether it's right for you or not.

Features/ Strengths:

The Creative Laminator can process items that are up to 9� wide. This makes it a great choice if you need to work with letter-sized documents as well as smaller items such as name tags.
This machine can heat up in just 6 minutes which is pretty good for a smaller laminator. The device has a light that will go on when it's fully warmed up. You can then begin laminating.
The Creative Laminator is compatible with 3 and 5 mil laminating pouches. These pouches are easy to find and are usually pretty affordable so you won't need to spend a fortune on supplies. Also, these pouches will give your documents adequate protection so they can stand up to frequent use.
This machine comes with a cooling rack that attaches to the back of the device. The rack is a great place to store your freshly laminated documents while you're working on something else.
The Creative Laminator is pretty compact so it's a good choice if you don't have a large work area. It's really easy to transport this device since it's equipped with a translucent carrying handle.
This is one of GBC's most affordable laminators so it's a terrific choice if you're on a budget. Plus, the machine comes with a 1-year warranty.

Limitations/Weaknesses:

The Creative Laminator isn't the machine to get if you need to work with large items. However, there are plenty of terrific machines that can handle larger materials such as the GBC HeatSeal H700pro.
Like a lot of pouch laminators, this device isn't compatible with mounting boards. This shouldn't be a problem though if you're just going to be laminating occasionally.
The Creative Laminator doesn't have a cold lamination setting so you can't use pressure-sensitive pouches with this device. Also, you might find it difficult to process some thermally sensitive items such as documents printed with water-based ink.

Recommendation:

The GBC Creative Laminator is a pretty basic device. It doesn't have a lot of special features and its feed opening is just 9� wide. It won't work with mounting boards and it doesn't have a cold lamination setting. However, just because it's basic doesn't mean it's not worth checking out. In fact, the Creative Laminator should be on your list if you're in need of a device for occasional use. This machine will have no problem laminating smaller items and letter-sized documents, and it's small enough to be used just about anywhere. If this sounds like the device that will meet your needs, check it out today.
