The Fellowes Powershred 125i Strip Cut Paper Shredder provides superior paper jam prevention within a slim design, and is perfect for shared shredder use. The 100% Jam Proof System will alert you when inserting more material than the machine can handle, and will power through tough jobs. With a continuous run time of 45 minutes, you have plenty of time to finish your shredding tasks, and the energy saving sleep mode puts the shredder to sleep after 2 minutes of no activity. Fellowes Powershred 125i Strip-Cut Paper Shredder Review

Fellowes is known for making some of the best paper shredders available and the company recently put out a number of new machines. One of them is the Powershred 125i. Check out its strengths and weaknesses so you can decide if it's the shredder you need:

Strengths:

The Powershred 125i is a strip-cut shredder that can destroy up to 18 sheets of paper at once. This machine's cutting cylinders are strong enough to handle stapled documents, junk mail, and even some plastic items such as CD's and credit cards. The feed opening is 9� wide for your convenience.
This shredder will start running the instant you place something in the feed opening. The machine can shred continuously for up to 45 minutes and it has a 14-gallon waste bin so you will be able to shred quite a bit. In fact, this machine is perfect for shared work areas.
The Powershred 125i has a paper overfeed indicator that will glow red when you try to shred too much. You will then have a chance to remove some pages from the stack you are trying to shred. This helps prevents paper jams.
This machine has two of Fellowes' most popular features: SilentShred and SafeSense technology. The SilentShred feature ensures that there shredder will operate quietly so you won't disturb others while you shred. And the SafeSense feature disables the shredder when your hands get too close to the feed opening.
The Powershred 125i has a power-saving system that causes it to shut off when it hasn't been used for a couple of minutes. This feature prevents the motor from overheating and it obviously helps you save power.
Finally, this shredder comes with two warranties. First, the cutting cylinders are covered for as long as you own the machine. And second, the shredder as a whole is protected for 2 years.

Weaknesses:

The Powershred 125i is fairly large so you probably won't be able to fit it under a desk. The machine's approximate dimensions are 29� (height) x 11� (width) x 21� (depth). There are casters on the bottom of it so you can wheel it around when necessary.
This machine has the same shredding capacity as its cross-cut counterpart, the Powershred 125Ci. However, since this is a strip-cut machines it offers slightly less security than the Powershred 125Ci. You should keep this in mind if security is a top issue for you.

As you can see, the Fellowes Powershred 125i has a lot going for it, such as its generous shredding capacity, the ability to destroy some multimedia items, and the paper overfeed indicator. Also, the machine has the SilentShred and SafeSense features that make it safe to use and make it possible for you to shred your items without disturbing your co-workers. You will definitely want to think abut your security needs and decide if the Powershred 125i offers enough for you. (If not, there's always the Powershred 125Ci.)
