This machine has very durable cutters that can shred junk mail, credit cards, CD's, DVD's, staples, and paper clips. There is a separate feed opening for plastic items, so be sure to take advantage of it.
The Powershred 485i has the ability to start shredding automatically so you won't need to wait for the machine to warm up. The device has a continuous-duty motor so you can shred as much as you need to and the shredder will be able to keep up. The waste bin can hold up to 35 gallons of shreds, so you won't need to empty it very often.
This device has anti-jam technology that includes a paper overfeed indicator. If you try to shred too much and the indicator glows red, remove some sheets and continue shredding.
