"This is GBC’s CC1700 Electric Coil Inserter.

Before starting, make sure to plug in the machine and turn it on.

There instruction on the front so you know which level to set the bottom guide roller. For this demo I am using a coil that fits within position 3.

Adjust the roller to it’s correct position by pushing up. It will snap into place every time. To go back down you must reset it by bringing the roller firmly all the way up, which will then bring it all the way down.

When ready, place all your prepunch pages into the spine former. Then thread your coil by hand into about four of the holes.

Gently place the coil against the gray roller until it brings it all the way through. You’ll want extra coil hanging off both sides.

With the extra coil, cut it off with wire cutting crimpers, which is sold separately. Searching crimping pliers on our site will give you the product and a detailed video on how to crimp properly!

This machine comes with a crimper, which is hidden within the packaging.

On the side of the machine is a convenient slot to hold your crimping pliers.

The rollers on this machine are just strong enough to spin coil, which makes it easy to remove anything that may pull into the machine. In fact, I could even stop it with my hands, which actually provides extra safety when using."
