Questions & Answers

The primary difference between Velobind and Surebind is the hole pattern. A long time ago Velobind and Surebind were competitors in the marketplace. Velobind uses an 11 hole pattern with equally spaced holes and Surebind uses a 10 hole pattern with spacing that is designed to work with a plastic comb binding punch. Now that both brands are owned and produced by GBC we have been seeing a steady decline in Surebind usage and anticipate that it will eventually be discontinued. If you are selecting a new system I would definitely go with Velobind. Also, these 4 pin strips will work with your 11 pin system allowing you to create editable Velobound documents.

Unfortunately these are not compatible with the older 6-pin systems. GBC has discontinued those machines. However, if you are interested in upgrading your machine, you can find 4 pin machines located here: https://www.mybinding.com/binding/binding-machines/gbc-velobind/4-pin.html
Or you can call our customer service at 1-800-944-4573 to assist you in selecting the right machine for your needs.
