For low to moderate office shredding, the MBM Destroyit 2404 is a great choice. This deskside model is packed with features, including a Safety Protection System, an automatic start and stop, and an "Easy Switch" that controls three operations with one button. A reliable motor powers the hardened steel cutting shafts that slice through any document. Let's take a deeper look at the 2404.
Strengths:

First, a photo cell controlled automatic start and stop function causes the machine to begin shredding when paper is detected in the feed opening. A safety shield covers the paper entry to protect against flying particles. The "Easy Switch" is a single, multifunction button with easy to read backlit icons that indicate operational status. It controls stand-by, stop, and reverse. The machine will automatically shut off when it detects a full shred bag, an open cabinet door or a paper jam. If there is a paper jam, the auto reverse feeds the jammed items back out to the user. Finally, after one hour of inactivity, the shredder goes into an environmentally friendly "sleep" mode in order to save electricity.

Papers are fed into a 9.5 inch opening as many as 11 sheets at a time. The hardened steel cutting shafts, backed by an impressive lifetime warranty, eat the documents as fast as 27 feet per minute. This is an excellent rate for a level 4 cross cut shredder. The shreds come out in tiny 3/32 inch by 5/8 inch particles, practically impossible to reassemble. This keeps confidential information safe.

A 9.5 inch feed opening can be limiting. For most small offices, this is a wide enough slot. However, if your business shreds many longer documents, you may want to upgrade to a shredder with a wider throat width.

Only 9-11 sheets can be shred at one time. Again, this is adequate for many small businesses, especially considering those sheets are rapidly shred up to 27 feet per minute. Those with higher shredding needs may consider a different model with a higher sheet capacity.

A 13 gallon waste volume is not very large. The tiny cross cut particles will fill up the bin slowly. Even so, offices with high volume shredding needs will want a larger model.
Overall, the MBM Destroyit 2404 is an excellent shredder for small offices with low to mid shredding needs. The many safety and automatic features lead to safe and uncomplicated use.
