The MBM Destroyit 2604 Super Micro Cut Paper Shredder is an excellent system for heavy duty, high security needs. A powerful single phase motor drives the hardened steel cutting shafts as they dice up paper into tiny confetti. The many safety and automatic features make use simple and convenient. Strengths:

• A photo cell controlled feed opening automatically begins shredding when it senses inserted paper. The slot is guarded by a transparent safety shield, preventing fingers and other objects from getting caught in the blades. A sole switch operates stand-by, stop, and reverse functions. The large button has back-lit icons that indicate operational status. The stop function cuts power to the motor when it senses an open cabinet, a full shred bag, or a paper jam. If a jam occurs, the automatic reverse sends the overfed paper back out to the user, helping to unclog the blades. Weaknesses

• This shredder is not able to handle staples, paperclips, credit cards, or CDs; document fasteners must be removed before shredding. Depending on your needs, this may or may not be an issue. MBM does offer low and medium security shredders able to dispose of CDs and other items.

• The 6-8 sheets it accepts at once is a limited amount. With a rate of 28 feet per minute, the small capacity might not be an issue for many offices. Those offices with high volumes of sensitive information to dispose of may want to upgrade to a high security shredder with a larger capacity.
