This is the margin control tab. Here's a comparison of the two sizes. Start off by punching a test page to make sure your punches are correct. With your pages aligned, pull the lever down towards yourself. When you're finished punching all your pages, place your comb binding properly into the machine. Push the handle away from yourself to open the binding. Open the comb so all your pages can fit, then thread your pages in facing down. When all your pages are in, close the binding up and your book is finished. One of the best parts is that the MiniComb is made almost completely of metal. The only plastic is the cover of the punching mechanism. For more demos, reviews and how-to's, go to MyBinding.com.

Welcome to MyBinding.com. This is the MiniComb Plastic Comb Binding Machine.

Whether you're binding daily, monthly or yearly, this affordable machine makes comb binding simple and cost effective for you. All MyBinding’s machines are made with high quality, long lasting materials and are backed by a two year warranty for peace of mind. Start by removing the thumbscrew on the right side, slip on the handle and replace the screw. Adjust the left edge stop for the correct size paper, then you can punch up to 12 pages of 20 pound paper. There's an easy 11 inch guide for standard paper, and the punch holes are numbered. This particular machine makes rectangular holes standard for comb binding spines. The tab on the left side of the machine is used to set your margins depending on the size of your booklet. Don’t forget to periodically empty the waste tray. After you've punched your pages and covers, set your comb into the metal teeth on top of the machine. Push the handle away from you to open the comb just enough to set your pages into the comb, then release the handle back to the center position and remove your completed binder. One advantage to using comb binding is the ability to open it back up and make alterations without replacing the spine. Stop paying expensive labor and make perfect booklets on your own time with MyBinding's line of hole punch and binding machines.

Thank you for your question. You are not able to remove or disengage the dies/punches on the the MINICOMB Manual Plastic Comb Binding Machine however it will punch 19 holes, the other 2 dies are for punching A4 paper which is slightly longer than 11".

Thank you for your question. The MINICOMB Manual Plastic Comb Binding Machine does not have dies that can be disengaged and will always with all dies. You would need a machine that has dies that can be disengaged from punching. You can find one example of a machine with that feature here .

Thank you for your question. ProClick spines have a different hole spacing than combs and would not be compatible. The GBC ZipBinds are similar to the ProClick spines but have the same spacing as the combs. You can find our selection of ZipBinds here .

Thank you for your question. The MINICOMB Manual Plastic Comb Binding Machine would be able to punch through a sheet laminated with a very thin laminate. As a light weight machine it would have issues with a medium to heavy thickness of laminate.

Gracias por su pregunta. La MINICOMB no tiene opción para perforar tamaños que no son letra. Terminaria con hoyos cortados a la mitad si trata de perforar cualquier otro tamaño.

The adjustable margin control on this machine is designed to let you move the holes closer to the edge of the document for smaller books and further away for larger books. If the holes are too far from the edge pages won't turn freely (this is especially true when using 3/16" and 1/4" combs). If you put the holes too close to the edge the pages will tear out easily when binding thicker documents.

Yes you should be able to punch through almost all of the covers that we sell on our site with this machine. However, if you are punching plastic covers it is really important that you only punch one cover at a time in order to prevent issues with the punching pins. We do not recommend punching 35ga or 55ga poly with this machine or hard covers.

If you are referring to thickness, the machine is capable of binding documents up to 2 inches thick. However, considering the smaller punch capacity it is probably best suited for thinner documents and proposals. If you are wondering about paper size the Minicomb is really best suited for letter sized documents. However you can bind an 11x17 document on the eleven inch side quite easily with the machine. If you want to do other sizes you probably want to consider a machine with interchangeable dies so that you can ensure that you don't end up with a half hole on the edge of your sheet

The Minicomb can punch 7 28lb sheets at a time. Our ratings for punching capacity we use on our website is based of using 20 lb paper. The Minicomb is rated for 12 sheets of 20lb paper.

We recommend a machine with continuous punching for larger documents. This machine does have an open throat and could do 17 inches but you would have to line it up exactly to get the punch pattern correct for combs. If you need help selecting a machine, please feel free to call us at 800-944-4573.
