The Swingline hole punch comes with 4 different punch heads and you can put them in various configurations. Simply unscrew, loosen, slide them around and screw it back in. There's even a neutral position where you can store your extra dye and it doesn't punch through the paper. Everything is in there nice and tight and good and safe. There are plenty of binding and punching opportunities where you need various custom configurations. All chips gather in the tray below and are easily disposed. Thank you for your question. The Swingline Heavy Duty 2-7 Hole Punch would be able to punch a legal sized sheet. It has the standard 3 hole spacing stops for legal sized paper. You would just need to adjust the placement of the punching heads and the side guide.

1. Remove the screw from the punch head that holds it to the chrome faceplate on the front of the punch
2. Make adjustments or change the punch heads by removing them from the back
3. Move punch heads back to the desired locations and replace each punch head locking screw. Make sure the screws are tight.
