To release the three hole straight posts, press down on the two tabs right above them. Lift it out and you can separate the two halves. Then you can load the posts with up to 870 sheets of paper. Put the posts back together, then press them into the locking mechanism. For any unpunched pages, two pockets are located inside the covers, and they have a top pocket for extra security.
