Now, I will admit that I did not have a surface I could fully demonstrate this on, so I’ll be using some cardboard. It’s not perfect, but it will have to do.

It’s a classic hand crank pencil sharpener that you screw to a table or wall. And it only sharpens standard sized pencils.

Twist the shaving receptacle to the left and pull it out to empty out the trimmings. Then insert it back on a little crooked and twist it back into place.

You can easily apply it to a wall as well, but better yet, you can attach the shaving receptacle properly to catch the most trimmings, though it’s all at a different angle.

Now for the basic setup. The sharpener comes with three small screws. Place the sharpener where you want to attach it to with the catch tray off.

Now either make indents in through the holes, or grab a pencil and mark the hole positions. Now in those positions you’ll want to pre-drill some holes, potentially slightly angled inward.

When that’s done, place the sharpener back over and screw it into place. Going straight on this can be a bit obstructed and awkward, which is why you may want to try drilling the holes at a slight angle.

But now your sharpener is ready for full usage.
