Product Description

This Formax Atlas C300 High-Speed Automatic Creaser and Folder produces high-speed creasing and folding in a single pass. Sheets pass through the dynamic creasing matrix and the patented floating knife folding mechanism, which minimize marking of the digital printout. Speed is maintained, regardless of the number of creases: up to 9 sheets with 9 creases each can be produced in less than 9 seconds. With its graphics-based 7" touchscreen control panel, operators can easily set-up and save jobs in just minutes or use one of the six pre-programmed settings. The C300 automatically calculates the crease positions based on paper size and sets them accordingly. The powerful bottom-suction air-feed system allows for continuous loading of sheets, which increases productivity while maintaining accuracy, even with heavier stocks. The Formax Atlas C300 offers variable speed control to accommodate a wide variety of sheet sizes and thicknesses. This creaser has the ability to produce up to 16 creases per sheet, it can process up to 6,000 sheets per hour ,and can accommodate sheets up to 27.5" x 15.1" in size. This Formax Atlas C300 High-Speed Automatic Creaser and Folder can be used as a stand-alone creaser, or as a perforator when creasing and folding are not required.

FORMAX presents the Atlas C300 creaser folder. When durability, powerful, and accuracy matter, the Atlas C300 auto-feed creaser meets the quality demands of high volume digital finishing. In today’s print world on demand digital printing has become the standard for fast turn around and short run jobs. Finishing the piece properly for a professional high quality look is a key part of the process. With all the time and money spent on media and printing don’t waste your product with poor finishing. When it comes to folding digitally printed pieces, creasing is essential to avoid cracking and tearing on the folded edges. As show here without creasing the folded pieces cracked and looks of poor quality, while the creased piece looks clean and professional. Easy setup, accurate automatic feeding and user friendly operations separate the Atlas C300 from all the rest. The C300 features a powerful air suction feed table with an alignment deck for consistent, accurate feeding of paper weights up to four hundred gsm. A seven inch color touch screen for quick and easy setup and an inline creasing and folding system that creates a clean professional piece every time. Let’s take a closer look at how the C300 works. There are five simple steps to setting the air feed table. Step one, set the in feed gap. Take two sheets of paper and slide them under the gate stop disk. Then rotate the disk to adjust until there is a slight drag when pulling the paper back. Step two, adjust the side guides for the paper size. Loosen the nobs and slide the guide wall in or out, leaving about a sixteenth of an inch gap between the paper and the wall, then tighten into position. Step three, slide the rear guide into position so it snug against the end of the paper stack. Step four, adjust the side air volume so it elevates the paper stack and reduces friction. A variety of settings can be selected based on paper length and thickness. Step five, adjust the suction that will pull in the paper. More suction for a heavier stack less for lighter stack. With the infeed adjusted it’s time to setup the C300 for creasing and folding. First measure the paper utilizing the digital thickness gauge that comes standard with the C300. Determining the paper thickness is an important step to ensure the sheet is creased and folded properly. Enter the thickness on the touch screen. Next adjust the roller settings to match those shown on screen, utilizing digital adjustment knobs. Now use the touch screen control panel to select the fold type and paper size. The C300 will automatically adjust based on the information entered. The C300 is preprogrammed for six popular crease and folds in three different sizes. In addition users can program and save an unlimited numbers of custom jobs. Switching between fold settings is a snap, simply select the new fold type and press enter. Let’s take a closer look at the inline creasing and folding system. The C300 utilizes a dynamic creasing matrix that moves side to side in conjunction with patented knife folding technology, to allow paper to continuously pass through the system and maintain speed regardless of the number of creases. You will notice that the paper is creased without ever stopping. The heavy duty creasing matrix utilizes a channel and anvil to create the crease. This enforces the print age sheet and eliminates cracking of the folded edge providing a clean professional piece. The creasing angle and pressure can be adjusted to accommodate different paper weights and types. The folding system is designed to reduce direct contact with the sheet to avoid scratching or marking the printed piece. The C300 includes a perforator tool which is easily attached to the exit feed rollers to add perforations at the same time the piece is being creased. The FORMAX Atlas C300 automatic creaser folder sets the standard with its leading edge technology. Ease of set up and operation, power, durability and accuracy essential for today’s digital print finishing.
