Sometimes you need removable pages in a permanent project. And that’s why we have various forms of perforated paper!

There are perforations on the edge of your page at varying distances, one’s on the bottom, in the middle, ones with multiple perforations—I’m not going to go over all of them in this video.

It’s always recommended to fold the perforated edge before you tear it off. This will produce a cleaner result every time.

And the paper is perfectly safe to use within a printer, even over the perforated line.

When using the left edge perforation you can see that it works in binding machines.

Now in your project you can have normal full sheets, mixed in with some removable perforated sheets. as needed.

And remember when I said to fold it first? Here you can see that it tears much easier without folding it.

It even works in more permanent bindings like with this fastback glue based strip. Fold on the perforation, and tear it out, leaving behind a small strip still bound in the book.

It comes in different variations of thickness, perforation, and size, and certain styles come in different amounts.

Questions & Answers
Q:
Is there any way to get this paper perforated 3" from the bottom but on the long edge?
Asked by Matthew Russell
A:
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do have a perforated that is perforated along the length of the page, they are all perforated across the width.

Q:
Does any of this paper come in a slick or shiny finish?
Asked by Lisa Gureasko
A:
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there is not a option for glossy perforated stock. All of the perforated paper is a standard matte uncoated stock.
