Welcome to MyBinding Video. These are the Aluminum 4:1 Spiral Coil Binding Spines. To really make your spiral bound booklets stand out, use these flashy spiral coils. They're made with high quality aluminum to allow for flex and movement but resist kinking and damage. They spin through hole punches just as easy as plastic coils, but note that you will need to use needle nose pliers to crimp the ends of the wire. Thank you for question. The Silver Aluminum 4:1 Metal Spiral Coil Binding Spines are compatible with the any of the standard 4:1 spiral Binding machines. You would not want to use the standard crimping pliers for the metal coils. They are designed for the pvc plastic and would be damaged.The metal coils are a new product and there actually isn't a dedicated tool available for them yet. We suggest a pair of needle nose pliers that has a wire snip incorporated in them.

Thank you for your question. For 175 sheets of 20 # paper you would want to use a 7/8" (22mm) coil. For heavier weights of paper you would want to measure the thickness of the completed document (including any covers) and add 1/8" to that measurement to get the diameter of the required coil.
