There is a clear pocket on the other side to put some extra lose papers. It may take in little extra wiggling because the pocket's actually pretty tight. Thank you for your question. The C-Line 8.5" x 11" Clipboard Folder measures approx 8.75" across. It would not be a good fit to insert into a 8.5" slot.
