Book trimming can be labor-intensive and very costly. Realize higher profitability with the uniquely modular Challenge CMT 130 three-side trimmer. The CMT 130 is available with several feeding options. The high-capacity book pile feeder option handles up to 36" (91.4 cm) of untrimmed material. Once inside, the feeder will pre-stage books for delivery into the CMT 130. Books are securely registered prior to trimming. Books are rotated and locked into position prior to trimming. Bi-directional knife travel provides a clean trim. External waste chute allows non-stop trimming. Once the books are trimmed, the optional vertical stacker allows you to accumulate up to 24" (60 mm) of finished books before unloading. Simple, intuitive machine operation and programming. The CMT 130 performs tool-less size changes in approximately 10 seconds. The near-line CMT 130 can be loaded and left to run unattended, increasing productivity and profitability. The CMT 130 produces up to 200 books per hour when trimming single books at a time and up to 500 books per hour when trimming up to three books at a time with the multiple-book option. The CMT 130 can be configured for true in-line finishing with many single- and multi-clamp perfect binders.
