In this video, we will be covering color matching inside of the DFE. Double click. Open up your document and you'll want to verify that your artwork does in fact have spot colors inside the file. You can do so with the design software that was used to design the PDF artwork, or you can also verify by looking for this icon inside the full job editor. Double click the swatches icon and you will see a list of the different colors used. Inside of this document, select the color that you would like to edit. You can make adjustments in one of two ways. You can drag the sliders for Siam magenta and yellow black here, or if you would prefer for a more granular control, click on this grid printer icon and you'll be greeted with this interface. Here you see a grid of colors varying from cyan and lowering the cyan values as it increases on the board, and you'll also see magenta lower values and increasing in value as you move to the right. So within this grid you can see on the far right these magenta values are all 100%. As we go down, you'll see that these are all lowered to 76%. Likewise for cyan, you can see that these are all 100% cyan, and as you move up, the row at the top is 86%. The numbers here vary. You can go from 0.5% difference between each spot on up to 10% difference between each spot in the grid. We'll go ahead and reset back to five. You can also choose which colors you're adjusting in this color matching by clicking on either of these bars and then clicking on the droplets. You can change the color that you're adjusting or making accommodations for. The same could be here and along the bottom we will leave cyan and magenta as our two colors.

Starting off. The central located dot in the middle is our home color, and that's the original color that was included inside the file. From there, we would click on any of these dots to make adjustments to the color. So if we would like to reduce the amount of cyan, in other words moving up the bar and reduce the amount of magenta moving back on the bar, we would go this direction from 100 cyan and 90 magenta to 90 cyan and 80 magenta. And you can see after several clicks this value changes with each click. The center value always changes and again is always the value that you're working with. As you're making adjustments, you can either start immediately by printing this grid, by choosing this icon or make some changes to these numerical values by clicking on the dots. And once you believe that you have it, you can then again use this icon to click. Before doing so though, you'll notice this icon here. As we go through these, you'll see that there's envelopes of different orientations as well as sheets of paper. This is going to determine the grid size and location on the substrate that you're using. Our recommendation is that you print it on a sheet of paper so that you can see the entirety of the grid, but you can also use it on envelopes if that's what your color matching on as well. From here, we'll go ahead and click print and jump over and look at the grid and real life.

Alright, right now that we've printed our grid, let's go ahead and take a look. Here you can see that it's printed on two different envelopes. This row and this row are one and the same. As you recall on the screen, it was a five by five grid. So we'll go ahead and place this. At this point, we can go ahead and take this grid and look at it and either compare it against a real life example that we've got pre-printed and we can actually fold this over and then compare it to the colors and see what modifications we may need to make. Or you can always take it and compare it to a couple different Pantone books that you might have as well coated or uncoated. Our paper's not coated, so we would look at the uncoated in this case. And then from here, we would just go ahead and make note of any adjustments that we might need to, and then we could jump back into the computer and make those adjustments. So let's go do that now.

Once we made a determination of what color we may need to make adjustments on, we come back into the screen here, make further changes, whatever they might be, press print. Once again, we'll hold that grid up against a sample that we have in real life, make a determination that we do, in fact have the color that we're trying to achieve. Then we'll come back here to the interface. Click on the check mark, and our adjustments now have been saved. As you can see, the color here is different from the original color that's still located here. From here. If we want, we can save this by clicking on the plus button and giving it a name.

By saving this, we can eventually use this and other pieces that have the same Pantone. So if you're doing envelopes in one time, letterhead, business cards, napkins, what have you, can use the same color and additional pieces of artwork later on. If at any point you want to redo or start from the beginning again and reset your colors, simply click on this to reset our colors. And we are now back at the original values within the original file, and that is an overview of color matching inside the DFE.

In this video, we will be setting up the feeder for number 10 envelopes. To start, you need to open the load tray part by doing this, by turning this knob clockwise. Use an envelope to make sure you have the right gapping. Once it's wide enough to slide one in, close it till it just touches the sides of the envelope. The exit guides also need set start by setting them level or slightly outside of the load tray.

The back oscillation tray can also be adjusted to help with mainten maintaining proper feeding. Loosen this thumb screw to move it forward or back tighten once you have it into the right position.

We will now test our feed by turning on the conveyor and running.

If we need more gap in between each one, we can adjust using our separator here to put more gap in between turn this counterclockwise to get less gap in between, turn the clockwise.

Looking at the top view of the feeder, you can see that we have gaps on each side. You can adjust these side rails to make contact at the bottom with a little gap at the top on both sides. This will help ensure most consistent registration. During transfer to the main conveyor, the envelopes will come down and you'll see a gap being created at the conveyor. If I want that gap to close up, I turn the speed of the feeder up to close that gap. If I want to create a bigger gap, I can turn the feeder down.

In this video today we will be going over the installation of your new envelope printer. Today we are installing our black demo unit. The color of your machine may vary. Functionality, features and operations between different colored machines are the same. First step is to install the conveyor onto the table. The conveyor should be roughly 24 inches from the left side of the table.

Once in position, verify that it is squared to the front and side of the table. The next step is to install the delivery conveyor at the left side of the table. For installation of the delivery conveyor, there are two thumb screws that have to be loosened. Once those are loosened, you can insert the flanges around those thumb screws to set the delivery conveyor into place. Once into place, tighten down the thumb screw on front and the back. That is the installation of the delivery conveyor.

The next installation is for the printer that will set on top of the conveyor. The printer has four thumb screws that will set into these holes, machined holes on the plastic slide guides. Once in position, you'll need to remove the cardboard protectant from the conveyor or from the printer. Undo the tape on both sides And then pull in the direction of the conveyor belt movement, which should be from operator side right to left.

Once that is removed, verify that your thumb screws are engaged and all four sides into the proper slots underneath. If they are sitting on top, it can cause issues down the line, so verify that they are in the holes. Lower the printer by turning the thumbs screws counterclockwise all four corners until there is no pressure. Once there is no pressure, start turning them all until you get a little bit of tension. And then take three full rotations on the front and three full rotations on the back. By maintaining the same number of rotations, you ensure the printer is level. You want to set the feeder center line in the center of your conveyor belt, which is the center of the print area. This is the center of the feeder. Line that up with the center of the printer. Using the center screw underneath as the marker point.

The next step in installation is to install the security screws to lock the printer down to the conveyor. There are M3 screws that will insert into the holes into the supporting rails on each side of the printer. Insert and thread in. Leave a little room for adjustment if you have to raise the printer later on.

The next installation is for the safety guard on the exit side of the main conveyor and transition to delivery conveyor. Using the provided M3 flathead screws mount the exit cover. That is the installation of the delivery conveyor cover or exit cover.

The next step in the video is to remove the ink cartridge cover. To remove the ink cartridge cover, simply pull orange cover out and install ink cartridges. To install the ink cartridges, place the yellow ink cartridge with the chip on the top side and the yellow slot. Push until it clicks and release. The magenta is next. Insert into the slot. Push until it clicks and release and repeat for the cyan and black, close your ink door that is installation of your ink cartridges.

The next step is to remove the orange retaining clips for your service sled. It is important to remove this before operation to avoid errors. Remove service sled door with a phillips screwdriver on the two thumb screws. To remove the door hinge down, slide to the left. To remove off of hinges, pull the two retaining clips out of the printer on both sides. Once the clips are removed, reinstall the ink door, line the hinges up and slide back onto the hinge. Hinge back up and re-tighten the thumb screws down using the Phillips screwdriver. That was removal of the retaining clips that are shipped with your new envelope printer.

The next step is installation of the computer and its hardware. Place the computer on top of the printer and the designated area. Included with your laptop is a kensington laptop lock that is used for safeguarding your laptop from removal. Okay, run Your lock side of the kensington lock through the loop and the handle on the printer. This lock will run around the backside of the printer and be placed into the back locking port on the computer. Use the key to disengage lock put into place and remove key. Now your computer is secured using that cable. Included in your computer is an ethernet adapter to use to connect your computer to the local network. The adapter will be placed on the left side of the laptop in the USB port, run an ethernet cable from your network to the USB ethernet adapter. Also provided with your computer is a one foot ethernet cable that you'll install on the right side of your computer in the ethernet port and run to your ethernet port on the printer. The power supply for your computer will plug in this USBC port on the left side of the computer. The next step during installation is installing all cables on the entrance side of the printer. The first cable we are going to install is the IO cable, which has an eight pin and a two pin cable port. We are going to be using the eight pin cable port on this side of the printer. The eight pin port is located above the cable organizer. Simply plug in and run your cable through the handle to the backside of the printer.

The next cable we are going to install is the encoder cable. The encoder cable has a male and a female side. To install here you need to line up the two plugs to where they mate together and twist the nut on the cable until it is secured. Run the cable up through the handle to the backside of the conveyor.

The next step in installation is the TOF sensor. The TOF sensor on this unit is not installed. These may be pre installed on some units. To install this, simply place the sensor through the hole and use the nut to tighten up on the bottom side. Next, the TOF sensor cable has two ends, the larger and the smaller diameter. The larger diameter will connect directly to the TOF sensor. The smaller diameter plug will connect up here. It is a good idea to run the cable through the cable organizer for best cable management. That is installation of all cables on the entrance side of the printer.

The next place we are going to make all our connections is on the backside of the conveyor. The first cable connection we are going to make is using the two pin IO cable. It'll insert into the two pin plug on the backside of the conveyor. The following cable connection is the encoder cable, which we'll plug into the encoder port. There is a six pin cable provided with the unit. One end will plug into the six pin port on the back of the main conveyor, and the other side of that same cable will plug into the delivery conveyor. Also provided is an eight pin cable, which will run from the backside of the conveyor to your feeder. We will show that connection in just a moment. Now that we are on the underside of the feeder, we will make our eight pin connection. The eight pin cable, we'll plug into the eight pin port on the bottom side of the feeder. Now that we have made the eight pin plug connection, we will return to the back of the conveyor to make our final connections. Now that we're back at the backside of the conveyor, we will plug in main power to the conveyor. Also provided is a cable to power the printer. One end will plug into the backside of the conveyor. The other end will plug into the backside of the printer. These are now all the connections needed for operation.

Hello. In this video we're going to be covering how to load a project into the DFE. Once you've loaded the program into the web browser, go ahead and click the plus button and a popup will show on the different files that you can choose to upload into the system. You must make sure that the file that you're choosing is a PDF file and not a JPEG or TIFF, but A PDF. Double click and you can see that the file has successfully loaded into the system. From here, there are a variety and number of different things that you can do with a project starting here in the corner, you can choose the size of the canvas in which the artwork is in. More often than not, you leave it in original, or if you have a custom size that you've created, you can choose.

The image that you see here reflects how it is printed. In other words, right now the short edge is being printed as the leading edge. We want these envelopes to turn, so we will turn these 90 degrees so that now the long edge is the leading edge, and this is also how we will load our envelopes or other substrate into our feeder. From here, you'll be able to nudge the artwork left or right, depending on where it falls on the substrate for calibration and registration. The same can be said for up and for down as well. If you would rather, you can also highlight inside of these boxes and type in a value if you would. So wish.

Moving down, you can see that you can do a test print. If there are multiple pages inside your PDF, you would be able to choose here. In our example, there is only one, so there are not multiple pages to choose from. And likewise, over in range, you can choose which page exactly to print from, but again, we only have one in this document, so we will simply stay on the print all. Here you can change your quantity that you'll be printing, and you'll also be able to dictate the quality. Here you can choose from production or high resolution. The production value is 600 by 1200 resolution, whereas the high resolution is 1200 by 1200 resolution. Between these two, they also correspond with the paper type in this drop down. Production coincides with plain paper, 300 and high resolution coincides with plain paper 600.

From here, You can also adjust the scaling if your artwork that's been provided may not have a bleed, but you need a little bit. You could bump this up by just a hair or shrink it down accordingly, depending on the artwork and the substrate that you're wanting to run on. Over here, we've already covered our media sizes. You can also see in the color paper, we've covered this area as well. Moving further down, there are sliders here to control your ink density. For a granular control, you can choose to drop down ink density across all boards, or you can do them individually with cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. Lastly, there's the preserve 100% black. That feature is there if you would like to have that truly 100% black done in your document during printing.

Right now, as it stands, we are in our full job editor. There's also the quick edits, which is simply a stripped down, paired down version of the editor. If you don't need all of those additional settings, it's simply up to the user's preference, whether they use the full job editor or the quick edit screen. Once all your settings have been made in this screen, you simply can either queue it where it will add it to the print queue, and you can see we were already here in the print queue or press print and it'll immediately send to your printer, and that is an overview of uploading a project to the digital front end, the DFE.
