Helpful Tips

How to Bind with the Coverbind Personal Binding Machine

The Coverbind Personal Binder is one of the smallest manually operated desktop binding machines on the market. Because of this, it can be placed on your desk without becoming an annoyance. For such a small machine, it is still capable of binding up to five documents at a time depending on spine width. Here is a step by step guide on how to bind great looking documents in minutes:

  1. Measure your document with the cover size selector.
  2. Now it is time to find a Coverbind cover that matches the same spine width as your document. After finding the right cover, load the paper set into the binding machine.
  3. Once your document is loaded, push the red button. Do not move the document while the red light is on.
  4. When the red indicator light turns off, the binding process is complete. You can now remove the document. In order to let it cool down, place the bound document out for 2-3 minutes.

While some binding machines can be difficult for a first time user, the Coverbind Personal Binding Machine is user-friendly, simple and effective. We would recommend this binding machine for a home office or small business. Hope all your binding projects go well!

Questions & Answers

Thank you for your question. These would be similar to a standard soft cover book. They lay pretty flat but would have about 1/8" - 1/4" of the binding edge that would be glued.

The glue strips listed on our website are for making your own covers. You just want to make sure you are using a heat resistant stock (Most cardstock will work, Glossy stock should always be tested) and you want to make sure there is about 1/4 of an inch on each side of the glue strip from the edge of your cover. We also recommend a creaser to crease your covers so you have crisp lines where your glue will go. If you have any further questions, please feel free to call us at 800-944-4573.

Thank you for your question. For covers in sizes for paper other than 8.5" x 11" you would need to either have custom covers made or make a single piece wrap around cover and use glue strips. We would be happy to help get custom covers made for you. Please reach out directly to our customer service department and we can start the process of getting a quote for you.
