Staff Review

MBM BookletMaker Jr. Review

Do you need a booklet marker for your workplace but want something small and compact? If so, you might want to take a look at the BookletMaker Jr. from MBM. It's certainly on the small side but does it have other features that make it stand out? Read this review and find out.

  • One of the BookletMaker Jr.'s main selling points is its compact size. It has dimensions of 16.5" (depth) x 19.75" (width) x 9.25" (height) so it will easily fit on just about any work surface. In fact, this machine is so compact it can fit even in the most cluttered work areas.

  • This machine is compatible with several different paper sizes. The paper you use with it can measure from 8.5" x 11" to 11" x 17". This will allow you to create booklets of different sizes easily.

  • The booklets you create with this device can contain up to 40 pages. The feed tray will hold 10 sheets of paper at time which isn't a particularly high amount. You'll need to keep an eye on the paper supply if you're binding a number of booklets per session.

  • Operating the BookletMaker Jr. is pretty easy because everything is clearly marked, including the various paper sizes (i.e. letter-size, etc.). There's an automatic paper centering feature that ensures every booklet will be put together properly even if you haven't use a machine like this before.

  • This machine has dual staple heads so all of your documents will be bound securely. That way, your booklets won't fall apart after they come out of the machine.

  • The BookletMaker Jr. is a pretty speedy device. It's able to bind up to 250 booklets per hour, so it's ideal if you need to produce a lot of documents in very little time.

  • This device is constructed from all-metal parts which helps make it very durable. You'll be able to get a lot of use out of this device no matter how much you use it.

  • Finally, the BookletMaker Jr. is backed by a year-long warranty. However, keep in mind that the warranty doesn't cover the wearable parts of the machine.

When it comes right down to it, the MBM BookletMaker Jr. is a really basic device. In this case, that's a good thing because it makes this machine really easy to operate, even if you've never used something like this before. This device would be a great addition to copy shops, offices, and schools, and it will be able to fit even in a small area thanks to its small size. It would be nice if the feed tray was able to hold more sheets, but you should be able to stay productive as long as you keep an eye on the paper supply. Also, this machine is constructed in such a way that you'll be able to really get your money's worth out of it. If this sounds like what you want in a document finishing machine, check out the BookletMaker Jr. today.

Questions & Answers

We have seen customers use a light cardstock or index weight paper on the outside of their booklets and it worked fine. Just remember that the stock has to fold successfully so be careful not to go too heavy.
