Thank you for your question. On the end of the stapler which is opposite the handle, there is a stainless steel looking rectangular block with two holes on top. Push in on that rectangular block (toward the handle) and lift up. The block will lift up and out. You load the staples in the space that is revealed. Make sure to use the larger staples designed for this type of stapler.
