These are Fastback FoilFast Composition Covers!

This is a composition strip, and this is a standard strip. The question is, will these covers better match my composition strips? Well, side by side you’ll see that they look pretty good.

The covers have a nice shiny side, and the other side is not as shiny.

Now bound together, you can see some subtle differences, but overall they match pretty decently.

To compare, here is a book using a standard regency leatherette cover. The color is pretty similar, but this cover has more texture.

And here is how it compares to a poly cover—which you should never use in a fastback machine because it will warp.

So, the question is, which do you like more and which can you afford?

These FoilFast covers look pretty good, and if you have the machine, they are better for foiling in the flights—perhaps even another foiling machine—because they do have less texture.

On the other hand, regency leatherette covers work pretty well too, and they are cheaper and more accessible. In the end, I’ve compared them, the choice is now yours.

Questions & Answers
Q:
Do you make customized fastback strips?
Asked by Sara
A:
We use to do custom strips but they had to be done at the manufacturer level and it would take up to 6 months. Fortunately, they came out with a new way to do custom printable strips. You only need an ink jet printer and your own artwork and you can make your own custom strip. the great thing is, there are 3 strips on each page so you can customize each strip as you want it. Here is a link to those strips. Click here
