Welcome to MyBinding video. This is the Star+ 150 manual comb binding machine. To start making your book, first adjust the margin control to the correct size paper. Then place your pages into the punch slot against margin control tab. Using 2 hands, pull the lever down and make your punches. This machine can punch up to 12 pages of 20lb paper as demonstrated here. Next pull out the bottom binding and measuring drawer. Fit your whole book into the smallest measure guide it will fit into. This is the size of the comb binding you'll want to use. You can do the same for the binding itself. Next, with the teeth of the binding facing up, place it on to the machine. Pull the lever so that your book is open enough to insert your pages, then thread your pages in facing down. You may find that you have to thread smaller batches of pages until your book is complete, then close the binding up and you're ready to read. And don't forget to empty the trimming tray at the bottom periodically. For more demos, reviews and how-to's, go to MyBinding.com.

Thank you for your question. The Fellowes Star+ 150 Manual Comb Binding Machine will punch the standard 19 hole ccmb pattern on a ll" side of a letter size sheet. The additional 2 pins are for use with A5 paper which is slightly larger and needs more holes.

Great Question! If you go to our comb machine section, there is a selection on the left hand side of the website. You can select manual or electric, and you can select dis-engageable pins. It will narrow down all of the machines matching that criteria. You can also call us at 800-944-4573 if you need help placing your order.

Thank you for your question. The Fellowes Star+ 150 Manual Comb Binding Machine does not come with any combs, they would need to be purchased separately. You can find our selection of Binding Combs here .

Thank you for your question. The Fellowes Star+ 150 Manual Comb Binding Machine would not reliably be able to punch a 1/16 of mat board. You would want to look for a more robust machine, you would be looking for a machine that would be able to punch in the neighborhood of 20 sheets at a time.

Thank you for your question. This machine will punch any size paper. But what you should look for is a punch with dis-engageable pins. This will allow you to dis-engage pins that may punch half punches on the edge of the paper.

Thank you for your question. While there is a type of wire ( Spiral-O Wire) that has the same spacing as comb binding. With Spiral-O wire you need to have a wire closer and unfortunately the Fellowes Star+ 150 Manual Comb Binding Machine does not have a wire closer. It is just set up to use standard plastic combs.
Answered by MyBinding
That is a great questions there. This machine is able to bind up to 150 sheets of 20lb paper and the comb that would be able to hold 150 sheets would be the 3/4" comb.

Thank you for your question. The Fellowes Star+ 150 Manual Comb Binding Machine would not be able to punch along the 17" side of the page. It tops out at letter sized.
Answered by MyBinding
This machine shouldn't have any problem punching most types of paper stock. It can even punch plastic covers as long as you punch them one at a time and they aren't too thick. Just don't try to punch too many sheets at once and you should be fine.
