Product Description

The Fujipla ALM 3220 Al-Meister fully automatic laminating machine has functions such as automatic feeding, laminating and automatic framing capabilities. In fact, all operations are automatically handled. The operator simply puts the document they would like to laminate into the feeder, pushes the start button and all the laminating work is done automatically. This is the birth of the next generation in laminating machines. With the Fujipla ALM 3220 every operation is automatically done including setting the film, inserting operation, etc. It takes only 3 minutes to finish laminating 10 sheets of letter size paper. For double letter size paper, it takes only 5 minutes. This cuts the ammount of time that it takes to laminate and trim documents in half for most companies and is ideal for use with a single sheet of paper or for mass production. The Fujiplay ALM 3220 laminator includes an advanced automatic feeder that enables loading up to 200 sheets and will drastically reduce the work of the operator. Patented technology from Fujipla automatically aligns and guides the paper and the automatic feeder continuously provides paper. All of this makes the Fujipla ALM 3220 simple enough that anybody can operate the Al-Meister easily. Basic operation is very simply done with the start and stop buttons. The LCD panel shows the status of the operation, settings and the counter. When the operation is complete a sound notifies the user. Automatic trimming in two modes widens the application of the Fujiplay ALM 3220. The Al-Meister automatically senses the size of the paper (letter, double letter, digital paper) and selects the proper size. There are two modes. One is, laminate with a highly durable and waterproofing effect. The other is, laminate without margin, which is convenient for documents only requiring surface treatment. The modes can be easily changed and the film waste will be automatically saved into the film waste box.

Adjustments are bound for size of sheets, a [0:22] for very minor tweaking and thicker or thinner document set. You can even have multiple lengths of paper in the feed tray and the sensors inside the machine will laminate and trim accordingly. If you desire, you can even make micro adjustments on the back end to the trimmer so there’s absolutely no margin or as much margin as you like. The bragging rights of this machine is you can place your papers in, hit start and go do something else. It takes just 3 minutes to fully process 10 sheets and a stacked in feeder can handle up to 200 sheets. It’s about the size of a copier so you can set it in the corner and let it go. Applications and usefulness is unlimited. It’s all done with heat rollers so there’s no contact to the plastic, avoiding all scratches. There it is. That’s the Fujipla ALM 3220. Congratulations on your purchase of the ALM3220 Auto-Laminator. Today we will demonstrate film reloading using the film overlap and threading card method.

First thing I’d like for you to do is open the front cover. Open the rollers with the roller lever. Put it in the up position or the open position. Then open the dust cover and then open the feeder cover. Gather your film and, holding your film, I’d like for you to identify the black band on one end of the film core and identify on the cartridge holder and laminator the black dot. Flop in the film, coordinating the black band with the black dot for both the top and the bottom film. For the bottom film, you’d like to thread the film under and behind the idle roller. I’d like for you to take the top film and place it over the heat shield. After putting the film of the bottom roller behind the idle roller, I’d like for you to go to the rear of the laminator to the rear cutter and put the cutting blades in the film set position. This positions the blades away from the web of film and the threading card. This prevents any potential jamming. Take the bottom film and bring it up against the top film. Take your threading card and position your threading card into the throat of the laminator. Push the threading card and the film through and all the way back to the exit rollers. This will require up to 12 inches of threading card and film to reach the exit rollers. Take the roller lever and put it into the down or into the laminate position. On the rear of the laminator, there’s a toggle switch. You want to toggle it forward and advance the threading card until the threading card completely exits the laminator. You want to activate the manual cut button that will cross-cut that sheet and then you pull the threading card and the laminate out. Now that you’ve threaded the film successfully, it’s time to apply tension to the rolls of film. Apply tension, turning the tension knobs to the right until they stop. Then back off one rotation to the left. Do this for both the top and the bottom rolls. You may need to loosen tension slightly as film rolls become smaller. Close all your doors. Load feed table with paper stock. Press your green button and laminate. Perfect lamination! Trimmed on all four edges. Nothing else to do! Dry-Lam, Lenexa, KS, 888-633-1973.

The huge advantage to this machine is how simple it is to get a fully laminated and trimmed project without doing any of the cutting yourself.

Before we set up the machine, I’m going to turn it on, and place the waste bin below the catch tray.

On the main display we see some different settings to adjust, such as the temperature, which is easily adjusted.

Other settings include setting the number of pages to run, setting a lamination margin or have it trim right to the edge of your project, and a count of total projects and how much film a roll has.

Before lamination, make sure to close the rollers to the lamination position.

With the back cover open, now you’ll have to make some manual adjustments to the trimmer. This position is where it will cut the edges—it can be set for margins, or even through the project.

You’ll see some common sizes labeled for a cut with a margin, or a cut that trims at the edge of the project.

On the left is also a manual feed control, and a manual cutting control.

Back to the front, adjust the edge guides on the feed table for your project size. Do this on both sides.

Next, on the inside you can set project thickness with this little tab you move up or down—the normal paper thickness is labeled as such.

Before jumping into your real project, we recommend doing a test run. Push the table down, and insert your pages.

You’ll see it laminate and trim automatically. Where now you can evaluate if the measurements are equal and you can make any changes accordingly.

You’ll see I simply ran a test page with a margin, and one that is cut to the edge of the project.

If you need a micro adjustment, this little wheel moves the feed table from side to side in small increments.

Now I’m ready for my real project! And I can run up to a stack of 200 pages in one go. Can you imagine running a project of 200 pages, and never having to manually cut one yourself? It’s a huge time saver!

It can be place on any table, or you can purchase it’s own stand with extra room for the trimmings, and it adds a level of portability!

And that is the Fujipla ALM3230 Desktop Automatic Feed Laminator with an Integrated Trimmer!

Fujipla ALM 3220 Al-Meister Fully Automatic Laminator Review

Have you ever wished you had a laminator that you could just load with film and paper, press a button, and have it do all the work for you? If so, you'll want to check out Fujipla's ALM 3220 Al-Meister Laminator. This is a device that's fully automated and works quickly so you can have professional-looking documents in a flash - while you're off doing other things. Let's take a look at this machine's strengths and ponder its weaknesses as well.

Strengths:

  • Although the ALM 3220 looks like it would be difficult to use, it really isn't. In fact, it's as easy to use as a photocopier.

  • This laminator is very fast and will be able to process your documents in a matter of seconds. It operates at speeds of 20 to 48 inches per minute. It only takes 3 minutes to process 10 sheets of letter-sized paper, which is really impressive. When your documents have been processed, the machine will let you know via an audio signal.

  • The ALM 3220's paper feed tray can hold up to 200 sheets of paper. You'll be able to stack your documents in the tray and then walk away as the machine does its work. The tray has a paper guide so you'll be able to stack your sheets in just the right place for great results. When the machine is done laminating, it will then re-stack your sheets.

  • This device has a built-in trimmer so you won't need to worry about trimming the excess laminate from your documents. You can choose to trim your documents so they either have a margin or not. After trimming, the excess film goes directly into a waste compartment that you can empty when the time comes.

  • The ALM 3320 only takes 5 minutes to warm up so you'll be able to use it in no time. When not in use, the machine will go into standby mode until you need to use it again. When that happens, it only requires 1 minute to warm right back up.

  • This device is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature that will help you save electricity while also preserving the integrity of the motor. The machine will also cease operation when it runs out of film or the feed tray is empty.

  • Loading a new roll of film is easy because this laminator uses special film. This film has a strip at the beginning of the roll that makes it a snap to thread the material into the machine.

  • The ALM 3220 is backed by a one-year warranty.

Weaknesses:

  • The ALM 3220 laminates at temperatures ranging from 170 to 240 degrees Fahrenheit. This means there is no cold setting, so you won't be able to laminate thermally sensitive documents with this device.

  • You can only use film that's 1.5 to 5 mil thick with this machine. Therefore, it's not a good device to use if your document requires thicker film.

  • This isn't the laminator to use if you work with a lot of wide-format items. It can only work with documents up to 12.6" wide.

  • Naturally, this device is pretty large, about the size of a small photocopier. So this isn't really the machine to get if you're looking for a desktop laminator.

Although the Fujipla ALM 3220 has a couple of weaknesses - the lack of a cold setting chief among them - if you want a fast laminator, you couldn't do much better. So take a look at the ALM 3220 today so you can see just how fast it is.
