To size glass in your mat cutter, first remove the mat guide. Whenever handling glass, always use gloves and safety glasses. Take the piece of glass you intend to cut, place it into the machine and down against the squaring arm. Align the edge of the glass along the squaring arm number you intend to cut off. Using kerosene, lighter fluid, or a similar glass-cutting fluid, put some on the surface of the glass where the wheel will roll. Hook the Logan 704 Glass Cutter onto the guiderail past the end of the glass and gently slide backwards until the wheel bumps up onto the top of the glass. Firmly grasp the handle and pull back toward yourself. Slight pressure is needed only. Only scribe glass one time.
After your scribe is made, flip the glass over and put it back into the machine the exact same way. Make sure you align the edge of your glass on the same scale number of the squaring arm. Set the rail down, and with your left hand, put some pressure on the guiderail, and with your right hand, gently pull up. The glass will break at the exact size you set it for.
