Novus B4 Compact Executive Professional Stapler Review

A good professional-grade stapler should be in every office and some of the best ones are made by Novus. One of their products is the B4 Compact Executive Stapler. It is essentially a smaller version of the company's popular B5 stapler as it has all of the great features of that product despite it's diminutive size. Here is a rundown of what the B4 can do, as well as a short discussion of its couple of weaknesses.

Strengths:

• The B4 was designed to be small and indeed it is. Its measurements are 5-3/8" (length) x 1-1/2" (width) x 2-1/2" (depth). It definitely won't take up a lot of room and you can also carry it with you, if necessary.
• Although this device is small, it has a big stapling capacity. It is capable of stapling up to 40 sheets of paper at once and you can do so without a lot of effort. The stapler responds well to gentle pressure to make the stapling experience more comfortable for you.
• This product was designed and manufactured in Germany by Novus, a company that's famous for their high-quality products. The B4 is another great item from them that has been made to withstand a lot of use over a period of a number of years.
• The B4 is a tri-mode model which means it offers three ways of stapling your documents. It offers standard fastening, tacking (i.e. attaching your paper to a vertical surface such as a bulletin board), and temporary pinning. Temporary pinning will staple your document in such a way that the staple is easy to remove, even by hand. This is a nice alternative to paper clips. Also, switching between these three modes is easy. Turning an anvil on the base of the unit will do the trick.
• This is a front-loading device that's easy to refill. When you run out of staples, just press the red button on the unit and you'll be able to load it up again.
• The B4 works best when you use high-quality Novus staples with it. The ones you should use are the 24/6 and 24/8 Super staples.
• This product comes with a very good warranty. Novus will cover the device for up to 10 years.

Weaknesses:

• This is not a flat-clinch stapler that's capable of flattening the staple's legs. While that may not seem like a big deal, documents stapled with a flat-clinch device take up much less room than ones fastened with an ordinary stapler. So keep that in mind if you're looking to save space.
• The B4 is only available in three colors: black, blue, and gray. If you're looking for a compact device in a brighter color, you may want to consider the Swingline Compact Stapler.
