Thank you for your question. The cover on the MasterVision Waterproof Outdoor Magnetic Dry Erase Enclosed Board w/ Aluminum Frame opens to approx 60 degree angle. and does have supports. The second and third picture on the product page have a picture of the board with the cover open.
