If you're punching a larger book, you can increase the margin by pulling on this side. Pull it out and a little bit to the back of the machine. Here's a side by side of the different margins. Start of punching a test page to make sure that your punches are correct. This machine can punch up to 10 pages of 20 pound paper at a time but fewer is always easier. There's also a guide to help choose which size of binding to use and don't forget to periodically empty the waste tray. The best part about the MiniCoil-O is that it's made almost completely of metal. The only plastic is the covering over the punching mechanism. Now this machine doesn't bind, as the MiniCoil-OE does both. And if you bind your book with your machine or by hand, either way you're going to need crimpers to finish off your book. Whether you're binding daily, monthly or yearly, this inexpensive machine makes binding simple and cost effective for you. All MyBinding’s machines are made with quality, long lasting materials and are backed by a two year warranty for peace of mind. Start by removing the thumbscrew on the right side, slip on the handle and replace the screw. Adjust the left edge stop for the correct size paper, then you can punch up to 8 pages of 20 pound paper. There's an easy 11 inch guide for standard paper, and the punch holes are all numbered. This particular machine makes oval holes at a 4:1 pitch, meaning it makes four holes per inch and 43 per page. Remember to use 4:1 wire with these booklets. The tab on the left side of the machine is used to set your margins depending on the size of your booklet. Don’t forget to periodically empty the waste tray. After you've punched your pages and covers, take your coil and twist it by hand through every hole. Even out the ends, then take your coil crimpers and crimp the ends so it won't come unbound. To save considerable time spinning coils through your booklets, consider the MiniCoil-OE with the Electric Inserter. Stop paying expensive labor and make perfect booklets on your own time with MyBinding's line of hole punch and binding machines.

Thank you for your question. The Minicoil should be able to punch one "ply" of the cover at a time, it probably would not be able to both the front and the back of the cover in the same punch. You would get better results from a more robust machine. The Tamerica Optimus-46i 4:1 Pitch Coil Binding Machine would be a good option.

We ship via the "best available method", for this machine it would most likely be shipped via UPS to NH. The time frames for the shipping options are: Economy 4-8 business days , Standard 3-5 business days, Expedited options include 3 day , 2nd day Air and Next Day air.

The MINICOIL uses standard 4:1 coil. The size range is from 6 mm to 50mm (30 - 440 sheets of 20# paper) .

Thank you for your question. We tried punching a 16 mil Poly Cover with a MINICOIL , while technically we were able to punch the cover. The MINICOIL is a entry level binding machine designed for very light use and punching covers of that weight would start to dull the dies at a faster rate than paper would, limiting the life of the machine.

The Minicoil does have a open throat but does not have the continuous punching nub needed for punching on larger than letter so unfortunately it would not be able to accurately punch larger documents. The features you would need to look for would be either a machine that can naturally punch legal sized sheets or a machine that has a open throat and a continuous punching guide.

The oval holes on this machine will help to make inserting the coils onto your pages easier. They provide a little bit more leeway for spinning the coils onto the edge of your book especially if you are using slightly larger diameter spines.

No. Crimping pliers are not included. However you can find them here. If you don't have crimping pliers you can always use a pair of needle nosed pliers but the process is quite a bit more difficult.

Yes you shouldn't have any problem punching through laminated pages with this machine. You will need to adjust the side margin control on the machine to center the holes on our document and getting the coils started will be a little bit tricky since the holes won't come out to the edge of your sheets. However, we have a number of customers who make books this way and they look awesome.
