Welcome to MyBinding.com. This is the MiniCoil-R Round Hole Punch and Binding Machine.

Whether you're binding daily, monthly or yearly, this inexpensive machine makes binding simple and cost effective for you. All MyBinding’s machines are made with quality, long lasting materials and are backed by a two year warranty for peace of mind. Start by removing the thumbscrew on the right side, slip on the handle and replace the screw. Adjust the left edge stop for the correct size paper, then you can punch up to 8 pages of 20 pound paper. There's an easy 11 inch guide for standard paper, and the punch holes are all numbered. This particular machine makes round holes at a 4:1 pitch, meaning it makes four holes per inch and 43 per page. Remember to use 4:1 wire with these booklets. The tab on the left side of the machine is used to set your margins depending on the size of your booklet. Don’t forget to periodically empty the waste tray. After you've punched your pages and covers, take your coil and twist it by hand through every hole. Even out the ends, then take your coil crimpers and crimp the ends so it won't come unbound. To save considerable time spinning coils through your booklets, consider the MiniCoil-RE with the Electric Inserter. Stop paying expensive labor and make perfect booklets on your own time with MyBinding's line of hole punch and binding machines.

Yes will need to match the punching pattern with the correct coil and in the crimping process you can either cut to match the width of the calendar or pre cut if you are using the wire coil https://www.mybinding.com/binding/binding-supplies/spiral-coil/metal-spiral-coils.html or standard plastic coil.

This machine is rated for about 5 to 8 sheets of 20LB paper. We would suggest a bigger machine if you are punching through laminated sheets. A Coilmac would probably be a good machine to do this job but we would still suggest only punching one at a time. If you need help picking a machine, please reach out to us at 800-944-4573

Thank you for your question. Pitch describes the spacing of the holes. 4:1 will have 4 holes per inch, which is the standard for spiral binding machines and supplies.

Thank you for your question. The MINICOIL Manual Coil Binding Machine would not be able to punch a 14" length. You would need a machine with a open throat and a continuous punching guide such as Akiles line of Coilmac coil binding machines.

Thank you for your question. We recommend this machine for 11" punching as it does not have disengage-able pins/dies because of this punching anything smaller can leave a half punch on the edge of a sheet of paper.

Great Question! Oval holes are very convenient for larger books. It makes it easier to insert the coil when you have books larger than say 7/8 verses smaller books that don't really need the oval hole. The one advantage to the Oval hole though is it doesn't matter in smaller books if they do have oval holes and if you only occasionally do large books, it would be benificial to get the oval holes. If all of your books are under the 7/8 size, the round holes are great. Hope that answered your question. If you need help placing your order, please feel free to call us at 800-944-4573.

Thank you for your question. The MINICOIL Manual Coil Binding Machine would not be able to reliably punch 10 mil laminate. You would want a more robust machine. You would need a machine that is able to punch 15 - 20 sheets of 20# paper at time to be able to punch through a 10 mil laminate.

Thank you for your question. The MINICOIL Manual Coil Binding Machine - Round Hole has a open throat so a 11" X 17" sheet would fit in it and you could flip the sheet to punch holes on each end of the 17" side of the page. Where there would be a issue is that the MINICOIL does not have a continuous punching guide so there is no way to keep the spacing between the 2 halves.

Great question! You can bind smaller books however, this machine does not have disengageable pins so sometimes you can run into half circles at the edge of your document. It does have an adjustable side guide so you may be able to prevent this from happening. If you do have a specific size in mind, you can always send us samples and we can test to see if it will work. Please give us a call at 800-944-4573 if you need further assistance.

This is an entry level machine designed for low volume applications. As such it doesn't have an electric roller. This means that you will need to spin the coils onto the edge of your sheets by hand. It really isn't that bad as long as you aren't binding a lot of documents. If you need to do a lot of binding definitely consider the upgrade to a machine with an inserter and possibly to a machine with a larger capacity punch or an electric punching mechanism.

This machine does not come with a pair of crimping pliers. However you can pick up a pair Here. Coil binding is a lot easier with a pair of crimpers. They will cut off the excess coil and bend over the end in a single process. Be sure to watch the video on the pliers page for some tips on how to use them.
