How to Change the Spring Hook Assembly on the W-Series I-Bar Sealers

What is the spring hook assembly?

The spring hook assembly (Part#SHA-WH) holds the element / heating wire in place on the Sealer Sales W-Series I-Bar Sealers. There are two spring hook assemblies which are found on eather end of the seal arm. Similar to mounting springs, the spring hook assemblies are responsible for keeping the tension on the wire as too much slack will create a poor seal. We recommend changing out the spring hook assembly from time to time. This video will walk through how to change it out. Make sure your unit is unplugged before performing any maintenance.

  1. To replace the front spring hook assembly, pull the spring hook assembly down from the I-Bar arm.

        2. Disassemble the spring hook assembly.

        3. Replace with the new spring hook assembly. Attach the heating element wire to the spring hook assembly. Notice the notch located on the  spring hook. Push the              spring hook assembly back into the arm of the sealer. Make sure the larger end of the shoulder washer is pushed back into the arm of the sealer as well.

        4. To access the back spring hook assembly, remove the back panel.

        5. Remove the spring hook assembly by pushing down on the washer and spring.

        6. Replace with new spring hook assembly

        7. Push the spring hook assembly back into place.
