The Eco 34 is compatible with 3:1 pitch twin loop wire spines. This makes an impressive document. Since punch capacity is so crucial, we'll begin there. Tamerica claims that this machine can punch 15 sheets of 20lb paper per lift. But as you can tell from our video here, that was no easy feat. You really should think more in terms of 8-10, perhaps 12 at the most.

When aligning your papers, there is a side margin control knob, allowing you to make consistent punches throughout your project. Where this is a standard feature on machines like this, this one didn't seem too durable, and the functionality was sub par. And the handle on the right side could pose problems for left handed users. There is a punch depth adjustment knob, which allows you to determine how far from the margin punches are made.

First comes punching, next comes binding. Conveniently located inside the chip tray on the front of the machine are two measuring tools that help you select the correct size wire ring. By simply sliding your completed project into the groove, you can easily read what measurement you need. The Eco 34 is compatible with spines up to 9/16" wide. There's a spine rack on the front of machine to help with threading the document. It's helpful but you may also choose just to do it by hand.

The binding capacity of the machine is 120 pages of 20lb paper. This is okay, but if you need larger documents, you're going to need a larger machine. Dropping the spine into the large throat, adjusting the knob to make sure it closes all the way, simply push down the same lever and the wire spine is clamped shut. In our tests, we found that the smaller the wire spine, the more difficult it was to clamp it correctly.

With a price point of well under $200, if you need a sturdy long lasting machine that will bind smaller projects, this just may be your ticket. For more reviews and demos of this product and many more, check out MyBinding.com.

Set the side margin control knob to make sure that all your punches will be the same for every sheet. Before punching, you'll need to set the lever control to "punching". Line it up, jog it into place, and make your punch. Continue punching the rest of your project; you'll need to think in terms of about 10 sheets maximum per lift.weaknesses of the features of this product while watching it in action.

First comes punching, next comes binding. With your materials punched and ordered, you'll need to select a wire spine. If needed, use the two measuring tools inside the chip tray on the front of the machine to select your wire size. By simply sliding your completed project into the groove, you can easily read what measurement you need. There's a spine rack on the front of the machine to help with threading the document. This will take some getting used to. It's helpful, but you may also choose just to do it by hand.weaknesses of the features of this product while watching it in action.

With your project threaded over the wire spine, place it into the open throat of the machine. You'll want that spine to lay flat when it's inside that trough. Before clamping, set that adjustment knob to the size wire you're using. All set? Clamp it down. Simple as that, that's how you bind a book with the Eco 34 by Tamerica.
