On the front you’ll see there are some common measurements labeled. From there, you can first adjust the edge guide for the correct size. To ensure there are no incomplete punches, pull out the appropriate disengageable die pins.

It’s always best to do a test page first. Now fold it in half, and if the holes line up then you are ready. If not, further adjust the edge guide.

We always like to start off with the front and back covers. Since they are thicker, only punch up to 2 at a time. Then continue punching your pages—up to 15 pages at a time.

In most cases you can punch your pages and immediately put it into the binding, but since this handle has a dual function, it gets a little tedious—so we recommend setting them to the side and doing it all at once.

Insert your comb binding properly into the teeth of the machine, and push the handle back, hooking the comb and opening it up.

Then take your front cover and insert it in face down. Continue to add in the rest of your pages face down, and finish it off with the back cover.

Bring the handle back into a straight position, and now you have a comb binding bound book!

Of course there are more features, like a depth of margin control. Set this for making thinner books and bindings, or larger ones.

It also has an open throat design, which means you can take longer pages and punch them as well—or virtually any smaller size with the disengageable pins.

From time to time, empty the waste tray in the back, and put it back in.

There is also a guide on the front for what size binding you’ll need for the size project you are making.
