To start, first set the edge guide for your paper size. You can use common sized paper, or any other custom length.

Then do a test page to see if your page is aligned. At this point you’ll see that my punch was actually crooked, though I thought it was straight inserting it in. This is something to be careful of. With a redo we can see that some adjustments of the edge guide are needed.

When ready, first punch your front and back covers. Set them aside and continue to punch the rest of your sheets, up to 15 sheets at a time.

On the machine is a guide for what size binding you will need for the amount of pages in your project.

Now many machines have an electric coil inserter at the top to speed up inserting the coil into your project—this one does not. So when we put our pages together with our covers, it’s now time to thread the coil through completely by hand. It’s not difficult, but if you are making a lot of books in a row, this will be very time consuming.

With the coil all the way through, turn the project so the coil is nearest to you. Take your coil cutting crimpers with the dot facing up and cut off the end of the coil. Then flip the book around and cut the other end.

Before every project, empty the waste tray in the back, then slide it back in place.

There is also a depth of margin control on the side. You can pull the tab in and out to set the hole
