This Fastbind Elite Hot Melt Perfect Binder offers the greatest flexibility for any print environment. The Fastbind Elite can bind up to 9.3" x 12.6" sized books . It quickly produces hard and soft cover books as well as manager covers, tear-off pads and strip binding. Plus, the end result is perfect binding that is strong, square and affordable. The Fastbind Elite features the exclusive Paper Grain Opening (“PGO”) system. Unlike other spine rougheners that grind the spine creating lots of noise and dust, the PGO opens the paper grain with very little noise and there is no paper dust! The operator can control the number of PGO passes that need to be made to ensure a solid bind. This easy-to-use perfect binder can make professional quality books and reports in minutes with no set-up times or book format adjustments. In fact, it self adjusts for book thickness from 2 to 400 pages. This Fastbind Elite is ideal for print or copy shops, publishers, binderies, educational institutions and photographers. To bind a hard cover book, insert your cover into the machine. Pull the right cylinder up and slide the cover over to hold it in place and keep the pages properly centered.
Next take your pages with adhesive end papers on both sides and lock your pages in. Flip the book so the page ends are up.
Run the spikes over the pages so the glue will hold better. Then run your glue over several times. Spread some of the glue on the side of the cover like so.

Thank you for your question. The average cost is about 1.3 cents per book which is based on a book that is .5 inch thick. Of course, some books can be 1.5 inches or more and would cost slightly but over time the average is less than 1.5 cents per book.
