Product Details
- Simple and Convenient Operation: The feed tray's automatic paper length sensor measures the size, then calculates the fold plate positions according to the type of fold selected. The automated set-up of the fold plate positions uses six popular standard fold formats, making it easy to accurately set up each job, even with odd length stocks. The fold positions and delivery-stacking roller automatically move to the correct position. For non-standard folds, there are an unlimited number of custome programmable memory positions available. And all of this is easy to read on its 7" SmartScreen. Convenient top loading requires no fanning or special handling for consistent feeding. Each job is neatly stacked along the belt-drive exit conveyor. The batch counter creates an interval between grouped sets.
- Accuracy, Reliability and Versatility: The DocuFold Pro's unique suction transfer table easily handles high gloss paper and curled static-charged stock from digital printers. The register table aligns the paper before entering the fold rollers to ensure that each sheet is fed squarely into the fold rollers. The unique composite material of the folding rollers provides positive grip on a wide variety of stocks without the need for adjustment or frequent cleaning. Each fold, perforation or score will be accurate, sheet after sheet.
- Performance and Productivity: The DocuFold Pro delivers remarkable productivity. With its simple setup, easy loading and reliable feeding combined with sheets feeding at up to 27,500 sheets per hour, the Standard DocuFold Pro is the most productive folder in its class. The Docu-Feed Pro's top-load, bottom-feed; suction-feeding system and high capacity feed tray help to maintain this high level of productivity, with easy continuous reloading. In addition, the DocuFold Pro's suction feed system will not mark or scratch delicate glossy or coated stocks, or smudge digitally printed material.
- Perforating and Scoring: By removing the second fold plate and inserting the perfing/scoring unit, the DocuFold Pro can also serve to perforate, slit or score in minutes.

Today’s professional printing business is a dynamic environment that rapidly changes. Offices need a high quality paper folder that can keep up with their needs in a fast paced work space. One machine perfect for this is the Standard Horizon Docufold. This highly productive, easy to use paper folder provides fast, accurate folding with simple operation. The following is an in-depth look at the details.
Strengths:
- Setup of this machine is extremely easy, especially since the fold plates are controlled automatically. The feed tray intuitively detects the paper length and then positions the fold plates accordingly once you’ve selected a fold style. Then you simply slide in your folding stack and let the machine do the work for you. A digital display shows overlap detection, test feed, and an emergency stop alert. Skew control helps to ensure reliable feeding.
- A digital counter offers both batch and total count functions. The batch counter allows applications in multiples of 10 up to 990 to be processed, enabling you to set a stack of papers on the tray and walk away without counting to make sure you have the correct amount. The total function tallies up to 9999 sheets (or until reset) before restarting the count.
- Six popular folds are pre-programmed into the computer and include half, C, Z, double parallel, gate, and engineering fold. There are six memory slots for additional customized folds as needed. Folds are created as fast as 21,900 sheets per hour.
- The second fold plate can be removed to make way for the perforating and scoring unit. This adds to the functionality by allowing your machine to not only fold documents, but also perforate, slit, and score them for added versatility.
- The feed tray loads from the top while the suction system pulls from the bottom, allowing continuous reloading of paper for extra large batches. Just over a 2″ stack can sit on the feed tray at once and accommodates paper sizes ranging from 5.5″ by 5.8″ up to 14.3″ by 18″.
- Paper weights accepted can be as light as 16lb bond up to as heavy as 80lb bond. This wide array includes glossy and coated paper, which are processed without the marks, scratches, or smudges left by inferior machines.
- Standard provides a limited one year warranty on this product.
Weaknesses:
- As one would expect with most large machinery, this folder is very heavy. However, there are casters on the bottom for easier mobility and we don’t think this will be a big problem for most users.
- There isn’t an option to feed multiple sheets for combined folding. This isn’t a big drawback for very many businesses and is rarely seen on suction feed machines. For a similar device with this ability (but not a suction feed) is the Formax FD38x.
Clearly the strengths outweigh the weaknesses on the Standard Docufold. This device is an excellent choice for print shops, copy centers, universities, and any industry where professional folding of a wide range of paper weights and sizes is important. We would highly recommend the Standard Horizon Docufold to any office needing a suction feed paper folder.
