Welcome to MyBinding video. This is the MiniCoil-O 4:1 Pitch Coil Punch Machine. Setting up the machine is easy. Simply undo the side knob from the machine, wiggle on the handle and then tighten it back up. Make sure you are indeed using 4:1 coil. Before you punch, adjust the left backstop for the correct size paper. There's an easy 11 inch guide and the punch holes are numbered. If you're punching a larger book, you can increase the margin by pulling on this side. Pull it out and a little bit to the back of the machine. Here's a side by side of the different margins. Start of punching a test page to make sure that your punches are correct. This machine can punch up to 10 pages of 20 pound paper at a time but fewer is always easier. There's also a guide to help choose which size of binding to use and don't forget to periodically empty the waste tray. The best part about the MiniCoil-O is that it's made almost completely of metal. The only plastic is the covering over the punching mechanism. Now this machine doesn't bind, as the MiniCoil-OE does both. And if you bind your book with your machine or by hand, either way you're going to need crimpers to finish off your book. Remember to use 4:1 wire with these booklets. The tab on the left side of the machine is used to set your margins depending on the size of your booklet. Don’t forget to periodically empty the waste tray. After you've punched your pages and covers, take your coil and twist it by hand through every hole. Even out the ends, then take your coil crimpers and crimp the ends so it won't come unbound.
