Love the laminator, but there are no instructions on how to file for a warranty repair included with my purchase. I sent an email to My Binding for information on how to get info on warranty repair, but they have not contacted me about my request. I think the least they could do is let me hear back from them with my requested information.

All the controls are on the right hand side, the power switch as well as the temperature dial. The handy chart on the top of the machine will help you choose the best thickness of pouch for your project. And this machine can handle from 3 to 10mil in pouch thickness. Once you've chosen your pouch, open it up and slide your materials inside. Make sure there's a good, even margin and the crease end goes in first. With all laminators, it is wisest to use a carrier, though not always necessary. The same thing with the carrier; place it in crease side first into the throat of the machine and let the laminator take it from there. The actual speed of this machine is up to 13 feet per minute. Remove your project when it's completely done, open the carrier, and lay it flat on a surface to cool. Because of the versatility of this machine, you can do cards, credit cards, photos, different size things, as well as different levels of security with the thickness you need. Be sure always to let things cool properly. Another advantage of the SM330 is its large throat opening of 13 inches, allowing you to use oversize laminating pouches, which can enable you to laminate posters or double or multiple projects at once. Be sure to make your adjustments with the temperature dial. And with a project this wide, you will not be able to use a carrier. Just run it through, crease side first, by itself. If you should have a jam, or need to start again or reposition, simply press the reverse button on the top. The motors will go in reverse and back your project out. With a pair of scissors or a paper trimmer, trim the edges so everything looks great. There it is. That's the Tamerica Tashin SM330. Tamerica TCC160 Heavy-Duty Laminator Review

Do you need a pouch laminator that can process all of your small documents quickly and flawlessly? If the answer is "Yes," you'll want to check out the Tamerica TCC160. Here are this laminator's strengths and weaknesses. Check them out.

Strengths:

  • The TCC160 has a feed opening that's 6 inches wide. It's perfect for smaller items such as I.D. badges, bookmarks, business cards, luggage tags, and some crafts.

  • This laminator was engineered for heavy-duty use and its construction reflects that. You can use it on a daily basis and it will stay in great condition so you can keep using it for a long time to come.

  • Everything you laminate with this machine will look fantastic. It has four rollers that will spread the heat around evenly so the adhesive inside the pouch will melt like it should. The rollers will also help smooth out any wrinkles or bubbles so your work will look flawless.

  • This machine is compatible with pouches of varying thicknesses. The pouches you use can be between 3 and 10 mil thick so your items can be flexible or sturdy depending on your needs.

  • The TCC160 warms up pretty quickly. After you turn it on, it will be ready for use in less than 5 minutes. You'll be able to laminate your documents in a flash as well because this device can process just over 2 feet of material in one minute.

  • There is a temperature selection guide printed on the top of the machine so you'll know which setting to use based on the pouch you're using.

  • Using a carrier is optional. However, it's recommended so you won't get adhesive all over the interior of the device.

  • This would be a good machine to get if you need to save space in your office. Its dimensions are a mere 16.5" (width) x 12.4" (depth) x 7" (height). The machine doesn't weigh much either - only 15 pounds - so it won't be difficult to move.

Weaknesses:

  • Since the TCC160's feed opening is just 6 inches wide, you won't be able to process letter-sized documents (8.5" x 11") with it. This device is really meant for use with smaller items, so you'll want to choose a different model if you want to work with normal-sized documents.

  • This machine doesn't have a cold setting, so you should avoid laminating thermally sensitive documents with it. Items that could be damaged by heat include photographs and color copies.

  • Celsius is the measurement system used for the machine's temperature dial. This will be fine for some users, but not necessarily for followers of the Fahrenheit system.

Overall, the Tamerica TCC160 would be a great choice if your office is in need of a small pouch laminator. While you can't use it for cold lamination nor for processing large documents, this is one of the better small laminators on the market. It's durable, works with a variety of pouches, and will produce great results that are free from imperfections. Plus, it performs quickly so you can get things done a lot faster. So check out the TCC160 today to see if it's right for you.

Q:
What pouch size is the one on the video?
Asked by Alice R. 10 months ago
A:
It looks like there were 2 pouches used in the demonstration video. One appeared to be either a luggage tag sized or business card sized pouch that has a short side slot punched in it. The other pouch looks like a photo card sized pouch. We carry a wide variety of sizes of pouches. (link: http://www.mybinding.com/laminating/pouches.html )
