With a fully adjustable feed extender, it can handle envelopes up to 10x13 inches and up to 4 mm thick with no need for pre-sorting. The FD 452 is easy to use straight out of the box. Place the main body of the machine on a sturdy surface, then lift the machine and slide the catch tray into the proper slot on the main body. Once your machine is connected, plug it in and switch on the power. To use, tap the contents of your envelopes down, load them into the feeder, and press start. A resettable digital LCD counter accurately keeps track of how many envelopes have been opened. The fully enclosed slitting mechanism neatly and safely opens the envelopes from end to end with no messy scraps and without damaging the contents.
