This 38mm Burgundy spiral binding coil is designed for use in any 4:1 pitch spiral coil binding machine. Made from the highest quality food grade PVC plastic our ColorCoil offers a quality, professional look while binding documents up to 2" thick. Although these particular coils are Burgundy we carry 4:1 pitch coil in 45 different colors and in sizes up to 50mm in diameter. These 38mm coils are designed to bind documents that are up to 34mm (1 5/16") including covers. Plus, all of our Burgundy binding coils are CPSIA and ROHS compliant and are made in either Canada or the USA (not China).
Please Note that most of our Burgundy 4:1 pitch coil is made to order, is non-returnable and can take an extra 3-5 business days to ship. If you need this product in a hurry please give us a call for options before ordering.

Standard size coil has a 4:1 pitch, which is compliant with its respected hole punches. The standard length of each coil is 12 inches. Coil should always be longer than the pages you're binding. There are also custom lengths up to 36 inches. With the extra length on each end, you finish off your book with special wire cutting crimpers. Thank you for your question. You can find our selection of 4:1 metal spiral coils here . You would not want to use the standard crimping pliers for the metal coils. They are designed for the pvc plastic and would be damaged. The metal coils are a new product and there actually isn't a dedicated tool available for them yet. We suggest a pair of needle nose pliers that has a wire snip incorporated in them.
