The Akiles ProLam 100 Pouch Laminator is a professional heavy duty heat roller laminator. It is a highly productive laminator with an independent heat and motor control system. This system allows you to leave the laminator on the stand-by mode for hours and instantly restart the laminator for laminating. The ProLam 100 Pouch Laminator comes with a high quality Electronic Circuit Board. This ensures that your laminating jobs are highly versatile and consistent. It features an external control system that consists of gradual temperature control, ready light indicator and motor switch. This allows you to adjust the laminator to the correct temperature when you're changing the pouch thickness, pouch composition or laminate materials. It also features a heavy duty motor that ensures that the laminator doesn't get over-heated, and steel gears that offer durability and last longer. It weighs 12 pounds, is almost completely made of metal, has four rollers, and is designed not to wear out. Part of its design is the simplicity. A power switch to keep the machine on and warmed, once it's warmed up for the entire day, and a motor switch that you can turn on and off to preserve the life of the motor.
The biggest weakness of the Pro-Lam 100 is its size. It can only handle laminating pouches that are four inches wide. But if you're looking into this machine, you probably need something to do a lot of small projects, such as name badges or cards. And you need it fast and professional.
It has a laminating speed of 24 inches per minute, which is exceedingly fast. And you can be confident in its performance because it has aluminum heat plates and four rollers for adequate and precise heat distribution. Operating instructions are printed and mounted on the back of the machine. And on the under side of the machine is a manual temperature dial. You can make adjustments by turning the key. Where this is simple, it's pretty annoying on the bottom of the machine. It's really more of a "set it and forget it" type of a thing. We do recommend the Pro-Lam 100 because of its consistency and quality. But for a price point of under $200, you better need only what it can do. - This device has 4-inch feed opening, so it’s the right product to use if you need to laminate small things such as business cards, ID badges, snapshots, and so on. It can laminate up to 0.4″ inches of paper in a single second, which adds up to about 24 inches per minute.
- The Pro-Lam 100 contains aluminum plating and four rollers that help ensure the heat is distributed evenly, so your laminated documents will look fantastic. With this machine, there is little chance of your items being marred by wrinkles, heat marks, and the like.
- You can use pouches that are up to 10mil thick with the Pro-Lam 100. This is great because the thicker the pouch, the more rigid and sturdy your item will be once it’s laminated. However, this laminator can also be used with 3mil, 5mil and 7mil laminating pouches.
