These Westcott 8" Titanium Nonstick Straight Scissors feature titanium-bonded blades with a unique nonstick, permanent coating. Blades stay sharper longer and resist adhesives from tapes and glues. Use scissors to cut tape, hook-and-loop fasteners or other adhesives. Titanium blades are five times harder than stainless steel. Straight handles are made with plastic along the exterior perimeter and rubber along the interior grip for comfort. Use for right-handed or left-handed cutters. We’ll be doing a test with various materials to see if it is indeed “nonstick.”
First I tried sticky stuff attached to some cardboard. In the end, the stickiness did not seem to be a factor in place. I did notice that in more difficult cuts, the scissors were uncomfortable.
For simpler jobs it does just fine—but ultimately the question is will it cleanly cut duct tape? And yes, yes it does! In fact it barely sticks to the tape at all! Which is pretty nice!
