Look for guards, stable controls, emergency stops, temperature regulation, cool-down functions, and clear access for loading and maintenance. Equipment that uses high heat should be positioned away from combustible materials and unauthorised users. Operators need suitable training for film loading, sealing, jam clearing, and shutdown procedures. Electrical requirements must be confirmed before installation, especially for tunnels and automated systems. The work area should also provide enough room to prevent employees from reaching across hot surfaces or moving conveyors. Safety depends on the full setup rather than one feature. Correct ventilation, maintenance, housekeeping, protective equipment, and operating procedures are all necessary. Damaged heating elements, exposed wiring, worn sealing components, or bypassed guards should be addressed before the machine returns to service.

The setup may require shrink film or bags, replacement sealing wires, tape, heating elements, Teflon covers, blades, and cleaning materials. The exact supplies depend on the sealer type, package dimensions, film material, and production volume. Keeping an approved sealer replacement kit available can reduce downtime when a wear component fails during a production run. Confirm that every replacement part matches the machine model because similar-looking wires and elements may have different dimensions or electrical properties. Estimate film usage from package size and daily volume, allowing for setup waste and damaged pieces. Store film away from excessive heat, direct sunlight, dust, and sharp objects that could affect sealing or appearance.
