The heavy duty electric motor punches up to 53 perfectly round holes through 25 pages and a 13.5” punch throat easily accommodates larger documents. Five die disengagement pins allow you to turn off certain punches so your edges are clean and even, and the electric inserter saves you valuable time spinning coils. On the back, plug the foot pedal control into the left side, the power cord into the right and flip the red power switch. Then set the silver edge guide for the size of paper you’re using. On the right side of the machine, set the depth guide knob by pressing in and then turning. Always punch a test page before punching your printed pages. On the right side I’m getting a half punch, so i’ll pull out the pin above it and test once more. When you’re satisfied with the test page, you can punch up to 25 sheets of 20lb paper at a time, and if your covers are thick punch them separately. Stack your pages and covers, feed the coil through 4 or 5 holes. Switch the machine from punch to insert and gently press the coil against the roller until it spins through to the end. Included with the machine are a pair of coil crimpers. Turn the booklet so the coil is facing you. Then take your coil crimpers and make sure the red dot is facing the ceiling. Take the coil coming out of the last hole on the page and crimp through it with one fluid motion. It should cleanly cut off the end and leave a nice notch so it can’t come unwound. And with that you’re done. In just a couple minutes you have a lasting, professional coil booklet. After you’ve made a few, don’t forget to empty the waste tray.
