Testing one piece will show whether the insert remains centered and readable when hanging.

A medium or thick pouch may provide stronger support for cards that hang from clips, rings, or straps, but the correct choice depends on the desired flexibility and the laminator’s capacity. Thinner pouches create lighter pieces that bend more easily. Thicker pouches produce firmer cards, but they need sufficient heat and pressure for a complete seal. Available laminating pouches by thickness should be matched to the machine’s accepted range before ordering. Also consider the attachment hardware because a rigid card may hang differently from a flexible one. Test the complete card and attachment together rather than judging the pouch separately.

A slot can be added after lamination when a suitable slot punch is available, but it must remain within the sealed border and away from the insert. Punching too close to the card or cutting through an unsealed area can weaken the edge and allow separation. Pre-slotted pouches provide consistent placement and may be more efficient for repeated production. Post-lamination punching provides more control when several orientations or custom positions are required. Whichever method is used, test the finished piece with its actual clip or strap. Confirm that the opening is clean, correctly positioned, and strong enough for the expected handling before processing the entire quantity.
