For a face-mounted window graphic, clear adhesive is commonly applied to the printed face so the image can be seen through the glass. The opposite adhesive surface then attaches the graphic to the interior side of the window. This arrangement can protect the print from direct exterior exposure while presenting it outward. Confirm that the print media and ink are suitable for adhesive contact because some surfaces may show silvering, texture, or uneven bonding. A small test run can reveal tracking, adhesion, or wrinkle problems before valuable printed material is processed.

Clean the glass thoroughly and remove dust, grease, cleaner residue, and loose particles. The graphic and adhesive should also be flat and free from contamination. Begin from one controlled edge and apply even pressure as the graphic is lowered onto the glass. Avoid pressing a large area into place at once because this can trap air. Follow the adhesive manufacturer’s recommended temperature and installation conditions. Confirm that the removable or permanent side faces the intended surface. For a large graphic, work slowly with a suitable squeegee that will not scratch the film. Testing the method on a smaller piece can help establish the correct pressure and speed.

Choose a roll wide enough to cover the graphic with a small allowance for alignment and final trimming. A roll that is too narrow may require a seam, which can remain visible through glass. The length should include the full production quantity, setup waste, test pieces, and trimming allowance. Confirm that the roll fits the laminator’s maximum working width and core size. Mounting boards serve a different purpose and should not be treated as an alternative to window-mounting film. Store unused adhesive under suitable conditions and protect the roll edges from dust, dents, heat, and moisture.
