High Capacity Staples

The staple legs must pass through the entire document and leave enough metal to form a secure clinch underneath. Legs that are too short may fail to close fully, while legs that are too long can bend unevenly, leave sharp protrusions, or create a loose finish. Many high-capacity staplers accept several staple lengths so the supply can be matched to the paper stack. Paper weight, coating, folded inserts, and covers can change the finished thickness even when the sheet count is similar. Use the equipment guidance for the actual document range and test a representative stack before processing a full run. The longest available staple should not be used for every job because correctly matched legs generally create a cleaner and more secure result.

Only use them when the exact electric stapler is designed for that staple type, dimensions, and feeding format. Electric machines often require a defined staple series or cartridge even when another supply appears physically similar. Different electric staplers have their own capacity and compatibility requirements. Unsupported staples can create incomplete clinching, feeding faults, internal damage, or recurring jams. Confirm the machine model and approved supply code before ordering. When several leg lengths are supported, choose the one specified for the document thickness. Follow the machine instructions when loading staples or clearing a blockage, and disconnect or power down the unit when required. Fingers should always remain away from the stapling area during maintenance.

Common causes include incompatible staples, incorrect loading, bent strips, an overfilled magazine, excessive document thickness, poorly aligned paper, or worn machine parts. Staples stored in damp or dirty conditions may also corrode or stick together. When a jam occurs, stop applying force to the handle or repeatedly activating the motor. Use the release method described for the stapler and remove the damaged fastener carefully. Confirm that the document is within the stated capacity and that the staple leg length suits the stack. Before continuing, test the stapler on a small group of the same materials. Repeated problems may indicate an incorrect supply, accumulated debris, worn components, or the need for equipment adjustment rather than a fault with the document alone.

Store staples in their original labelled boxes in a dry, clean area. The packaging identifies the staple series, size, supported equipment, and quantity, making it easier to distinguish supplies that look alike. Open strips and cartridges should be protected from bending, crushing, dust, and humidity. Organising staples and cartridges by equipment model or supply code reduces the risk of loading the wrong fastener. Avoid placing loose staples in drawers with tools or heavy objects that can deform them. When a department operates several staplers, label each storage position clearly and retain an example of the approved packaging. Consistent storage also makes replenishment easier and prevents unsuitable supplies from being used simply because the correct box cannot be located.
