Because the pattern is visually strong, it is often most effective on selected text, logos, borders, or small design elements rather than large solid areas. Different holographic laminating foil options can produce distinct effects, so review how the pattern looks under normal lighting. Several finishes can be applied to one design, but each colour or finish normally requires a separate printing and foiling pass. The artwork must be separated so only the intended toner area is exposed during each pass. Accurate registration is important because slight sheet movement can cause one finish to overlap another.
