Check the widest roll, the number of rolls stored at one time, and the heaviest material in the room. Some Mondo Raxx options are built for fixed storage, while the mobile rack can hold up to 16 rolls up to 60 inches wide. Mountable jumbo storage can hold multiple rolls and support heavy loads when installed correctly. Roll diameter matters too, because crowded storage can make rolls hard to remove without damaging the edges. If you stock banner material, film, vinyl, and specialty media, separate active rolls from backup stock. For lamination-heavy work, roll laminating film should stay clean, supported, and easy to identify.

Proper roll storage keeps media off the floor, separates rolls, and reduces edge damage from leaning, stacking, or dragging. Vertical or supported storage also makes labels easier to read, which means operators touch fewer rolls while finding the right one. Powder-coated steel construction helps in active production areas because the rack can handle routine use. Rubber tips, stable supports, and locking wheels also help protect poles, floors, and roll cores. Review how rolls move from delivery to printing, laminating, and cutting. If operators move material several times per day, a mobile rack may protect media better than fixed storage because the roll travels with the job instead of being carried by hand.

Weight capacity becomes the main buying factor when rolls are large, dense, or stored in high quantity. Banner material, laminating film, vinyl, and specialty substrates can become heavy quickly when several rolls are grouped together. A rack that works for a few light rolls may bend, tip, or become awkward with heavier stock. Check the total load rating and think about weight distribution, not only the number of rolls. Mountable systems also need a surface that can safely support the loaded rack. If your workflow includes larger finishing machines, roll laminators may affect where storage should sit so operators can load film safely.

Check aisle width, machine clearance, roll loading direction, and whether the rack will be locked, mounted, or moved during the day. Operators need enough room to lift or slide a roll without hitting printers, laminators, cutters, or finished work. If the rack is mobile, confirm the wheels roll smoothly on the floor and lock securely. If the rack is mounted, confirm the wall, bench, or frame can support the loaded weight. Keep frequently used rolls near the equipment they serve, but leave enough clearance for safe handling. A good location reduces wasted steps, protects media edges, and makes the correct roll easier to find.
